On Monday, September 19th, more than seventy workers at Old Fashioned Kitchen in Lakewood, New Jersey ratified a new union contract!
The three-year agreement solidified many improvements for our members. First, all members will receive across-the-board wage increases in addition to yearly raises. On top of that, second- and third-shift differentials have doubled to further compensate workers on less desirable shifts. The agreement also solidified classifications and a new “Group Leader” classification; that carries a premium of an additional $2.50 per hour above their rate! In addition to these monetary improvements, everyone in the bargaining unit will receive a ratification bonus. Finally, the contract maintained our members’ affordable healthcare and substantially increased the Employer-sponsored pension contributions.
