On Tuesday, February 11, nearly six hundred workers at Dietz and Watson in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania stood together and ratified a strong new union contract!

All members will receive an immediate wage increase as well as annual increases for the duration of the four-year contract. Furthermore, members can expect a one-time longevity increase based on years of service, starting at five years of service. Shift differentials were also substantially increased for second and third-shift workers.

Through hard bargaining, the committee maintained reasonable contributions to our members’ healthcare. The 401(k) contributions were improved, with more senior members receiving a higher contribution to recognize their dedication. Finally, earned time off (ETO) was increased, providing these hardworking members with a better work/life balance.

Congratulations to our Dietz and Watson members, including those on the negotiating committee who worked tirelessly to achieve this great contract. The team included Executive Vice President Lisa Sanders, Union Representative Matte Kane, and committee members Kariem Smith, Stanley Rivers, Annette Ruiz, and Donna Johnson.

UFCW Local 152 proudly represents about six hundred workers at Dietz and Watson. Our members work in production and shipping, helping to make the beloved Dietz and Watson products found in most union retail stores, including hotdogs, deli meats, cheeses, snacks, condiments, and more.
