On Thursday, June 4th, members at George’s Market at Dreshertown in Dresher, Pennsylvania, unanimously ratified a new union contract! This contract was a joint bargaining effort with our sister local, UFCW Local 1776, whose members work the “retail” side of the store. Congratulations to all!
The new three-year contract will provide the members with guaranteed annual wage increases, in addition to an increase to the Sunday premium for members with over 48 months of service. Healthcare benefits and pension were also preserved.
Additionally, all members can now use one week of vacation in individual days and rollover up to one week of vacation into the next year. Finally, bereavement leave was expanded.
Congratulations to our members! This contract would not have been possible without our great union negotiating committee, which included Executive Vice President Lisa Sanders, Bargaining Representative Peter White, Union Representative Ed Fuller, and Shop Steward Alan Izes, as well as the team from Local 1776.
UFCW Local 152 proudly represents about ten workers at George’s Market, a family-owned grocery store in Dresher, Pennsylvania. Our members work in the meat, deli, and seafood departments.
