Members at George Wells Meat Co. Unanimously Pass Union Contract – 5/12/2021

On Wednesday, May 12, UFCW Local 152 members at George Wells Meat Company in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania unanimously voted to extend their union contract. In addition to the existing contract, members will continue to have their entire health and welfare costs paid in full by their employer!

Congratulations to our members and a special thank you to the Negotiating Committee, which included Assistant Director of Collective Bargaining Lisa Sanders, Union Representative Greg Torian, Shop Steward Anthony Ditheodore, and Committee member David Pecunia.

UFCW Local 152 represents about twenty production workers at George Wells Meat Company, the “premiere center-of-the-plate protein supplier in Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, Maryland and Washington, D.C.,” according to the company website. George Wells Meat Company supplies various foods for restaurants, hotels, country clubs, and many other institutions.
