On Wednesday, September 25, members at Complete Care at Victoria Commons in North Cape May, NJ ratified a new union contract!
Through hard bargaining, the company implemented a market adjustment in wages retroactive to May 1st, 2024, providing some members with a significant wage increase. Additionally, to recognize loyal, long-term workers, those with at least twenty years of service at the time of ratification will now receive an annual longevity bonus of $1,000.
The negotiating committee secured affordable healthcare rates for the duration of the three-year contract. Furthermore, members who opt to waive medical benefits and/or paid time off will now receive up to a $2.00 per hour increase in base pay.
All members will now be paid time and one-half (1.5X) for all hours worked on holidays, on top of holiday pay. Overtime hours will now be calculated toward vacation accrual. Finally, the company agreed to meet annually with the union and discuss the need for a “summer bonus” program. This program provides a monetary incentive and pay boost for members from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
Congratulations to our members and the hardworking negotiating committee! This included Executive Vice President Lisa Sanders, Director of Field Services Peggy Kelly, and Shop Steward Olivia Sanders.
