Did you know that August is National Family Fun Month? As the last month of summer break, try and make the most of the season by spending time with your loved ones before the hectic year begins.

We’ve put together a list of family-friendly activities you could consider, with discounts for our UFCW Local 152 family where applicable!

1. Go To The Boardwalk

Going to the boardwalk is always a good time, no matter which boardwalk you choose! You can eat ice cream and pizza, ride a rollercoaster, or just enjoy the ocean breeze. Did you know that UFCW Local 152 members get exclusive discounts at Morey’s Piers in Wildwood, Casino Pier & Breakwater Beach in Seaside Heights, and Fantasy Island Amusement Park? It sounds like a fun and exciting day for the whole family!

2. Take A Trip To The Zoo/Aquarium

A trip to the zoo or aquarium is guaranteed to be a memorable experience for everyone in the family! Who can resist seeing animals from around the world?

UFCW Local 152 members can enjoy discounts at the Philadelphia Zoo through our Tickets at Work program, which is completely free to sign up! We also have a partnership with Adventure Aquarium in Camden, NJ, which gives our members a significant discount off admission prices. The Cape May County Zoo also offers donation-based admission every day.

3. Enjoy Our Upcoming Member Days

UFCW Local 152 has partnered with both the Philadelphia Union on August 11th and Dorney Park the weekend of August 16th-18th, to offer our members private discount days. No matter which is more your family’s style, take advantage of the discount exclusively for you.

4. Do Something Educational (But Still Fun!)

Who says doing something educational has to be boring? UFCW Local 152 has partnered with both The Franklin Institute and Battleship New Jersey to offer our members discounts. There’s so much to see and do at both locations! On top of the beloved heart exhibit and electricity room, The Franklin Institute also includes escape rooms, a planetarium, and so much more.

5. Attend National Night Out

National Night Out is held in communities around the nation every year on the first Tuesday in August. For the unfamiliar, National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. Your town may participate by hosting a festival, parade, cookout or some other community event, often with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel, exhibits and much, much more!

6. Go To The Movies

Summer is a great time to see a movie! Not only are there many movies to choose from, but you can also enjoy the air conditioning on a hot summer day.

With our Tickets at Work program, you and your family can enjoy movie and concession discounts at AMC Theatres, Regal Cinemas, Cinemark Theatres and more!
