On Saturday, December 6, a two-hundred-member unit at Dietz and Watson Logistics, the warehouse and distribution center for Dietz and Watson in Philadelphia, ratified a new union contract. Congratulations!
The new four-year agreement guarantees many improvements for the membership at Dietz and Watson Logistics.
First, all members will receive an across-the-board wage increase. Third shift and long-term members will also receive additional compensation.
Through hard bargaining, the committee secured an increase to the 401(K) Savings Plan, allowing our members to plan for a more secure retirement. Earned Time Off (“ETO”) has been increased, and members will now receive all their earned time on January 1, rather than waiting for their anniversary date.
Shop Stewards will now have a paid Steward Day, providing them with the opportunity to attend trainings or other union business with the intention of advancing their union expertise. Finally, funeral leave was expanded, and the members’ affordable healthcare was secured.
Congratulations to our members! This contract would not have been achieved without the union negotiating committee, which included Director of Collective Bargaining Louis Faiola, Collective Bargaining Representative Peter White, Union Representative Matte Kane, Shop Stewards Bill Kelly, Angel Perez Mateo, Paulo Lopes Teixeira, and committee member Rubin Henderson.
