The threat of Lidl

Local 152 has compiled some facts we thought our members would find interesting.

A large section of Lidl’s Wikipedia page is devoted to “scandals and controversies,” including:

• Spying on staff, with a focus on women who may become pregnant
• Deliberate sickening of homeless people by poisoning food in trash containers
• Ignoring product quality complaints and overcharging
• Religious insensitivity in packaging materials
• Office staff arrested during investigation into Italian crime families

Lidl’s founder Josef Schwarz is the richest man in Germany.

Lidl is a German-based company that made almost 100 billion dollars in 2016.
