200 Workers at Goya Foods in Jersey City, NJ Overwhelmingly Ratify New Union Contract – 6/4/2025

On Wednesday, June 4th, approximately two hundred workers at Goya Foods in Jersey City, New Jersey, overwhelmingly voted to ratify their new union contract in a vote of 138-3.

The new five-year contract improves the lives of our members in various ways. The union committee negotiated substantial, immediate wage increases for all members, in addition to significant annual increases for the contract’s term. Shift differentials and position differentials were also increased.

Additionally, the committee negotiated higher contributions to the employer-sponsored UFCW Local 152 Savings Plan, their union pension plan. Finally, Goya Foods members will maintain their affordable union healthcare.

Congratulations to these two hundred members! This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without our great union negotiating committee, which included President Daniel Ross, Jr., Executive Assistant to the President Danette Montes-Palmore, Shop Stewards Abner Rosario and Lepido Gonzalez, and committee members Dave Chavez and Kendall Edwards.
