Earlier this year, the Irv R. String Local 152 Scholarship Fund opened for members and their dependents to apply for a college scholarship for the 2021-2022 academic year. After careful deliberation by the Scholarship Committee, award winners were selected. Congratulations to our eight award winners!
Travis Anane is a senior at Camden County Technical School Gloucester Township Campus and is planning to attend Rutgers University in New Brunswick where he will study to become an anesthesiologist. Travis has participated in HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America), Interact, FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America), Volleyball, NHS (National Honor Society), NTHS (National Technical Honor Society) and First Robotics. He has received various academic and athletic awards. He has also volunteered for several organizations. His mother, Dana Reynolds, is a UFCW Local 152 member at Spring Oak of Berlin.
Nicole Barsocchi will be attending Stockton University’s Master of Occupational Therapy program where she hopes to obtain a certified hand therapy licensure. She has been part of the Rowan College at Burlington County NJCAA Division II Softball Team. In the past, she has volunteered at the MYAA Softball Complex and at Medford Leas Continuing Care Retirement Community. Her mother, Helen Barsocchi, is a UFCW Local 152 member at Bevco.
Zachary Brown is a senior at Middle Township High School and is planning to attend college where he will major in Computer Science. He is part of the baseball and cross-country teams at his school. He has received 3 varsity awards and a Captain’s Award for cross-country. His mother, Micki Brown, is a UFCW Local 152 member at Rio Grande Shop Rite.
Courtney Burns is a senior at Pinelands Regional High School and will be attending Rowan University where she is majoring in Biology to become a dermatologist. Courtney has been part of the tennis, bowling, stage crew, rowing team, Science club, National Honor Society and Key club. She is currently employed at Acme markets. Her mother, Christina Dennison, is a UFCW Local 152 member at Acme Markets.
Julianne Chan is currently a senior at the Marine Academy of Technology and Environmental Science and is planning on majoring in Biomedical Engineering to become a manufacturing engineer and design products for the healthcare industry. She will be attending Rutgers University in New Brunswick. She is part of her school’s robotics team, student government and the National Honor Society. She also volunteers at the Stafford Emergency Medical Services where she is an emergency medical technician. Her mother, Wing Tang, is a UFCW Local 152 member at Perlmart Shop Rite.
Kattleya Leigh T. Go is currently attending Stockton University and is majoring in Psychology with a concentration in Mental Health. She plans on becoming a licensed Occupational Therapist at a nursing home or a veteran’s hospital. She has participated in various clubs such as ASL Club that focuses on the deaf culture and the Honors Program at Stockton University. She is currently employed at United Methodist Homes Bristol Glen. Her father, Matt Mark P. Go, is a UFCW Local 152 member at United Methodist Homes Bristol Glen.
Theodore Gorski is a senior at Triton Regional High School and will be attending Stockton University where he will be a part of the Physician’s Assistant program. He has participated in the National Honor Society and the Spanish Club. He was also the captain of the baseball team where he lettered in varsity all four years. He also volunteers with the Glendora Little League and Holy Child Parish. His mother, Eileen Gorski, is a UFCW Local 152 member at Acme Markets.
Cianna Rosado is a senior at Vineland High School. She plans on attending Rowan University to pursue a career as a Registered Nurse. She has received Cum Laude and Summa Cum Laude certificates throughout high school. She is going to attend Rowan College of South Jersey and plans to attend a university after two years to continue pursuing her career. Cianna is a UFCW Local 152 member at Acme Markets.
