A&P filed for bankruptcy protection yesterday afternoon, and have taken several positive steps that we believe will put UFCW members in the best possible position. The company has secured $800 million Debtor in Possession financing that will give it the resources to continue to operate its stores fully-stocked and fully-serviced. Workers can expect that their wages and benefits will continue to be paid.

A group of UFCW Local Unions throughout the East Coast-from UFCW Regions 1 and 2 met with A&P officials on Wednesday, November 10, 2010, about the Company’s ongoing financial concerns.
