UFCW Scholarship Opportunities

The United Food and Commercial Workers Union is about workers coming together to build better lives for themselves. It is about creating opportunity. Did you know that by being part of the UFCW, there are many scholarship opportunities for you and your dependents? Keep reading to learn about the different ways you or your children can apply.

 

1. Union Plus Scholarship Program

Since 1991, the Union Plus Scholarship Program has awarded more than $4.2 million to students of working families. Current and retired members of UFCW, their spouses, and their dependent children are all eligible to apply. Awarded scholarships range from $500 to $4,000.
Deadline to apply: January 31st, 2018.
Scholarships are determined by May 31st, 2018 and will be individually notified by mail the first week of June.

2. UFCW International Scholarship

Since 1958, the UFCW International fund has distributed more than $2 million in scholarships. This scholarship is available for union members and their unmarried dependents, under the age of 20. Scholarship amounts range up to $8,000 per recipient.
Applications will be accepted February 17th through May 13th, 2018.

3. Irv R. String Local 152 Scholarship Fund

The Irv R. String Local 152 Scholarship Fund is our own scholarship that we award to active members and their dependents who will be attending college in Fall 2018.
Deadline to apply: March 30th, 2018.
