On Friday, March 12th, UFCW Local 152 members at Spring Oak of Berlin in Berlin, New Jersey stood united and proudly voted to ratify a new contract!
The new three-year agreement provides wage increases each year for the life of the contract. In an effort to reward longtime members for their service, in addition to these increases members with more than eight years of service will receive a “longevity raise” in 2022 and 2023.
Furthermore, increases were made to PTO/sick time for all employees to comply with New Jersey Earned Sick Leave.
Finally, in addition to the Shop Steward, the Union Representative for Spring Oak of Berlin now has the opportunity to attend new hire orientations. Many new members have never worked in a union position before and do not understand the undeniable benefits of the contract and union representation. This is a wonderful opportunity for the members to learn about UFCW Local 152 and the benefits of their union contract.
Congratulations to our members and the Negotiating Committee! This included Director of Organizing Chad Brooks, Director of Field Services Peggy Kelly, Union Representative Pete White, Shop Steward Lloyd Anglin, and member Cassandra Williams. Great job, everyone!
UFCW Local 152 proudly represents about fifty members at Spring Oak of Berlin, an assisted living facility located in the quaint town of Berlin, NJ. Our members work as CMAs, CNAs, activity aides, maintenance, housekeeping, cooks, dietary aides, and more.
