On Wednesday, October 23rd, over eighty workers at Bishop McCarthy Center for Rehabilitation in Vineland, NJ stood united and unanimously ratified a new union contract! Congratulations!
The three-year agreement introduces many benefits for Bishop McCarthy members. First, the committee was able to preserve affordable healthcare for the membership.
Everyone with at least six months of service will receive a 3.5% general wage increase annually, retroactive to July 2024. A tiered, one-time longevity adjustment was implemented, rewarding members with at least five years of service with additional compensation on top of their base salary.
Finally, the company agreed to lower the service length needed to accrue vacation days, providing our members with a better work/life balance.
Congratulations to our members and the negotiating committee for this great win! The union’s negotiating committee included Collective Bargaining Representative Chad Brooks, Union Representative Peter White, and Shop Steward Sonia Ribot.
