UFCW Local 152 shop steward Kelli Wehmann, who works for Perlmart ShopRite, attended the most recent Berkeley Township Council meeting last week, to voice her support on behalf of the cannabis industry. The meeting was later reported on an article from Jersey Shore Online.
As part of his campaign, New Jersey governor Phil Murphy promised to legalize the recreational sale of marijuana in the state of New Jersey. Berkeley’s Township Council is one of a few towns who have chosen to ban the sale of recreational marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia in their township lines. This prompted many citizens from towns across the state to attend the most recent council meeting, to voice their concern of a township-wide ban. Kelli Wehmann (pictured above) was one of two UFCW Local 152 members who attended this meeting to voice her support for cannabis in the area.
