Representation
We are UFCW Local 152 – a proud union family that feeds, serves, and provides for America’s hard-working families!
We are there to represent our 14,000 members, to defend their rights as defined in their Collective Bargaining Agreement, and to provide a voice in the workplace.
Our Divisions
Retail Division
If you’ve ever bought lunch meat from an Acme Markets or a ShopRite, there’s a pretty good chance you were helped by someone in our union family!
UFCW Local 152 represents major retail grocery chains such as Acme Markets and ShopRite, as well as independently owned grocery stores in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. You will find our members in the meat, deli, seafood, and bakery departments. In southeastern New Jersey, UFCW Local 152 members also work in the front-end of the store.
Manufacturing Division
Believe it or not, you probably have many of our member’s products already in your household! UFCW Local 152 members process meat products, vegetables, and dry goods from coffee to Jell-O for companies such as Berks, Dietz & Watson, Goya Foods, Hanover Foods, Kraft Foods, Kunzler, Melitta, and many more. Our members are the production workers, maintenance, and warehouse workers in most of these facilities. We represent a number of manufacturing companies in Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.
Healthcare Division
Our fastest-growing division, UFCW Local 152 represents eighteen healthcare facilities and one hospital in New Jersey. Most of these facilities are nursing homes, with the exception of Cape Regional Medical Center in Cape May Courthouse and Bacharach Rehabilitation Center in Galloway. Our healthcare members not only consist of RNs, LPNs, and CNAs, but housekeeping, dietary, and maintenance workers as well!
As union members, these workers have their wages and benefits guaranteed in writing through their union contract and they have a voice for common issues that plague the industry.
Public Sector Division
UFCW Local 152 represents many hardworking public sector employees. From cleaning beaches to dispatching police, these members are crucial to keeping our local cities safe, clean, and running efficiently every day.
Cannabis Division
Our newest division, UFCW Local 152 is proud to represent workers in cannabis. UFCW members across the nation work in the cannabis industry work in dispensaries, labs, delivery, manufacturing, processing, grow facilities, and more — helping workers secure better wages, protection from unfair discipline, and great benefits with a union contract.
Government and Politics
In addition to looking out for you in the workplace, UFCW Local 152 is committed to using our strength to make a better standard of living for all workers in the northeast and across the country. This is accomplished through involvement in legislation and elections on the local, state, and national levels.
Members often ask, “Why is the union involved in politics?”
The Labor Movement has a longstanding history of supporting laws and candidates that will improve the lives of the working people. The eight-hour workday, overtime pay, pensions, holidays, and sick leave are just a few of the successes that have been achieved through labor’s involvement in the political process.
However, as vigorously as we defend your rights in the workplace, many of the protections we take for granted today can be erased with the stroke of a pen. Powerful anti-worker lobbying groups and greedy corporations are relentless in their attempts to weaken the laws protecting workers.
With the support of our members, we will continue to support pro-worker legislation and candidates who are dedicated to strengthening the bargaining power of the working class.
Collective Bargaining
The Collective Bargaining Department works to protect and improve the jobs and wages of our membership.
After nearly a decade of radically shifting economic, political, and industry conditions, UFCW Local 152 has upheld affordable healthcare and real pensions for our members, a testament to the strength and solidarity of the membership.
At every step in the bargaining process, UFCW Local 152 is prepared to proactively anticipate problems and create constructive solutions at the negotiating table. Forged through intense preparation and comprehensive bargaining coordination, the wages and benefits won in our contracts offer powerful incentives for our members.
