The "Trenton Makes" bridge reimagined to say, "UFCW MAKES, TAYLOR TAKES"

Taylor Provisions Union Contract Updates

Members of UFCW Local 152 have made the regionally famous Taylor Pork Roll or “Taylor Ham” for more than 50 years. The previous business operators valued members’ labor and compensated them appropriately for the value they brought to the Taylor brand.

Contract negotiations have been very challenging due to new ownership’s incessant demand for profits over people.  New ownership is attempting to take away many provisions in the current contract that allow you, the dedicated workers, to support your families. This is unacceptable!

Due to the nature of these negotiations, Local 152 has created this webpage to update members, community groups, and elected officials on the progress of these negotiations.

Update 3: September 5

Sign our Taylor Provisions petition now! Join us in our fight for a fair contract!

Since negotiations have stalled while Ms. Cumbler vacations, UFCW Local 152 has decided to enlist the help of the general public for support in these negotiations!

Petition Created

Your union has created an online petition to call on the public’s support.  Please take the time to sign this petition and share it with your friends and family!

Play Ball!

Did you know that Taylor Provisions is the biggest company sponsor for the Jersey Shore BlueClaws, a Minor League Baseball team in Lakewood, NJ? Last night, your union went to the stadium to let the public know how the company is treating working families and what is at stake in these negotiations!

We are pleased to say that many people were appalled by the situation, fully supported workers, and signed the petition. Union representatives worked hard to get the word out!

Stay tuned for more updates!

Update 2: August 13

Mayor of Trenton Supports the Union

Local 152 is committed to protecting the interests of the hard-working members at Taylor Provisions. Currently it appears that your new owner, Ana Cumbler, is insistent on demanding significant concessions from your contract. This is unacceptable and should not be tolerated by the rank and file membership!

To assist in your fight for a respectable contract, Local 152 is enlisting the support of local elected officials. See attached letter from the Mayor of the City of Trenton, W. Reed Gusciora.

As your contract fight ensues, each member at Taylor needs to stay committed to each other in their desire to be treated with dignity and respect on the job.

More information to come.
