On Wednesday, February 25 and Thursday, February 26, workers at The Botanist in Egg Harbor Township and Collingswood, New Jersey, ratified a new union contract. Congratulations!
The new contract improves the lives of our members in various ways. First, all members will receive a substantial across-the-board wage increase, as well as guaranteed annual increases for the life of the contract. All members with at least 90 days of service will also receive a ratification bonus. The three-year contract preserves affordable union health care.
Every worker at The Botanist will now receive an additional floating holiday; furthermore, senior members with at least five years of continuous service will be eligible for an additional floating holiday beginning in January 2027. These members will now be able to carryover more earned paid time off than ever before.
Finally, the new agreement added language for shop stewards and union representatives to host new union member orientation. These short meetings create an opportunity to formally teach new members about UFCW Local 152 and the union difference. It also created language for workers to voluntarily opt into the UFCW Active Ballot Club.
Congratulations to our members! This contract would not have been possible without the union negotiating committee, which included Collective Bargaining Representative Peter White, Union Representative Tony Melendez-Mott, and Shop Stewards Tim Daly, Dawn Farrell, Darian Hill, and Manuel Cordero.
UFCW Local 152 proudly represents the workers at The Botanist, a cannabis dispensary and cultivation site, with locations in Collingswood and Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. These members work in cultivation, dispensary, processing, transport, inventory, and more.
