Daniel Ross, Jr.
President
Daniel Ross, Jr. began his full-time career in the labor movement in July 2000. Danny connects with workers through honest, down-to-earth communication and a genuine respect for their experiences on the job. His early years focused on helping workers—particularly in nursing homes and manufacturing facilities—organize their workplaces and secure a voice on the job.
Danny assisted the UFCW International Union on various regional organizing campaigns, where he built lasting relationships with workers and labor leaders from diverse backgrounds. Over the years, he became known for an approachable style and ability to turn shop floor conversations into action — strengthening workers’ confidence in the UFCW and helping to deliver strong contracts that improved lives.
Danny previously served as Union Representative, Assistant Bargaining Director, Bargaining Director, and Executive Assistant to the President before being unanimously elected President of UFCW Local 152 in May 2024 following the retirement of President String.
In addition to his union work, Danny proudly served for many years on the board of the Bryan D. Ross Foundation, a charitable organization established in memory of his late brother. The Foundation continues to provide critical financial assistance to Local 152 members and their families facing catastrophic illness, injury, or loss.
Speaking on the staff of Local 152, Danny said, “Our mission is rooted in unity and service — we have a tremendous staff that is deeply committed to supporting working families and takes great pride in standing with our members to advance fairness, dignity and respect for all.”
Since taking office, Danny has also been elected Recorder for the UFCW NY/NJ District Council and to the Executive Board of the Delaware State AFL-CIO. He resides in Burlington County, New Jersey, with his wife, Elizabeth, and their two daughters.
